The Emirates Towers are twin triangular towers consisting of an Office Tower and Hotel Tower. The 56 storey Office Tower is the world's 9th tallest building in the Middle East and Europe region at 355 metres.
At level 9, complex steel transfer structures up to 7.5m deep and weighing about 120 tons distribute the loads. These inter-connecting trusses have to be supported by temporary works and welded in mid air. Further transfer structures are at levels 21, 23 and 45. The 305 metres Hotel Tower also has a transfer structure at level 40 and 42 and the trusses weigh about 100 tons.
